The steep and jagged cliff lines of Jigokudani Valley, hazed by the rising steam from the very depths of the earth, create a back drop not soon to be forgotten. Locals aptly named the site ‘Jigokudani’ (Hell’s Valley) after its close resemblance to Hell. Not as scary as it sounds, however, and remains a truly memorable experience safe for all ages.
